Cookie policy
This policy explains how Molekule uses cookies and similar technologies. We keep them to a minimum: Molekule uses the cookies it needs to work, those set by our payment provider during checkout and — only if you accept them — Google advertising cookies that tell us which of our ads bring people to the site.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can remember things between requests — for example, that you are signed in, or which language you chose.
The cookies we use
- Authentication and session — set by our sign-in provider to keep you securely signed in as you move around the app. Without them the service cannot work.
- Language preference — remembers whether you chose English or Spanish, so the site stays in your language.
- Security — help protect the service against abuse and keep requests safe.
These are all strictly necessary cookies and are always on.
Advertising cookies (only with your consent)
We advertise Molekule on Google Ads and load Google's tags through Google Tag Manager to measure which ads lead to a sign-up or a paid trial. If you accept them in the cookie banner, Google may set cookies such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw (up to 90 days) that record the ad you clicked so the visit and a later trial purchase can be attributed to it. Google acts as an independent controller for this data; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Until you choose, and if you reject them, these cookies are not set. Google's tags then run in a restricted mode (Consent Mode) that sends only cookieless, non-identifying signals — such as the fact that a conversion happened — which Google uses to estimate ad performance in aggregate.
Analytics
We measure how our pages are used with our own first-party, privacy-friendly analytics. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. It records only anonymous page-view data — the page you viewed, the page that referred you and a random session identifier kept in your browser's session storage only until you close the tab — which does not identify you, is not combined with your account and is never shared with or sold to third parties. Because it uses no cookies and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you, it does not rely on your consent; there is nothing for you to accept.
Third-party cookies
When you take out or manage a subscription, our payment provider may set its own cookies to process the payment securely. Those cookies are governed by that provider's own cookie and privacy policies.
Managing cookies
Strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent. Advertising cookies are only set if you accept them; you can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, but if you block the authentication or security cookies the app will not function correctly.
